On February 24th, 2017, grade 1 students had the opportunity to share their knowledge and understanding of balance and healthy choices during the first ever QAIS “Balanced Luncheon”. Following the luncheon, students shared all of their unit work. It was a pleasure to see all of the parents and students participating so enthusiastically in this event, to observe the level of engagement, the pride and joy from students and parents alike.

结合四年级探究主题——材料，我们组织学生们进行语言实践——做泡芙。将做泡芙的过程制作成教学文本，带领学生掌握过程中重要的语言知识，随后带领学生进行制作实践。结束后学生品尝到自己所做泡芙。最后一起将制作泡芙的过程，做成一个海报，巩固所学语言知识和实践能力。 Combine with the POI of grade 4: material , in our Chinese class, students learned the language knowledge of how to make puff . 本单元结合二年级的探究主题——发明创造，我们重点学习了中国四大发明之一——造纸术。使学生了解各种纸的中文名称，并能够动手将各种纸分门别类粘贴定位。与此同时，由纸的话题延伸至要节约用纸的观念培养，并以“节约用纸”为文本进行语言知识的学习。 Connecting with grade 2 POI—invention, we learned one kind of China’s invention— paper.
