Sharing and reflection time…
Thank you friends from both QAIS and Baishan for coming to our classroom and giving us the opportunity to share with you all our learning from our latest unit of inquiry, How We Organize Ourselves: Transportation Systems. It put a smile on our hearts to see how interested you were about seeing the city we built together!
As part of our Literacy Block, we do Literacy Circles, in which we not only work on our reading skills, but also on our writing skills. At the end of our last book, The Strange Shoe, we discovered that it was also a play. We decided to each have a role, make puppets for our characters, and practice to invite our friends for a story.
At the end of every unit we always take time to reflect about our learning and how we can improve. We are very proud of ourselves for all of our accomplishments and can’t wait for our next unit of inquiry…it’s going to be bigger!
As we are growing in our oral language skills our reading and writing skills also improve. We’ve been working on narrative writing pieces and to conclude our unit on Transportation Systems we thought about the following fun prompt: It’s time for school! Would you rater ride to school in a helicopter, a horse-drawn carriage, or a limousine? We came up with some great stories!
After two weeks of preparation and practice we were finally ready to share our puppet show with our Toddler, EC, and Sunflower friends!
