We were happy to be back in school and share with each other about our winter holiday. We loved hearing about all the wonderful places and things everyone did.
In math we focused on using our knowledge of place value to add and subtract 10, 100, and 1,000. We worked on identifying which digit would change and whether it required regrouping or not.
We worked together in teams to unscramble all three lines of inquiry. We then shared ideas about what they meant, illustrated and wrote them down in our UOI notebooks. We made a great connection with the key concept function, which led to a discussion about how communities work.
For this unit of inquiry, we are focusing on opinion writing. This week we asked ourselves which attribute and attitude we each thought was the most important to demonstrate as a member of the class. We had to be reflective and give reasons and examples for our reasoning. We made the connection that opinion writing goes hand in hand with the key concept of perspective.
