Toddlers loved to put their hands into the box and play while learning vocabulary at the same time. […]

Building friendship

Here we go again! Few weeks have passed already since the last post, but here is more about the little ones of our school. Children continue mastering skills with activities that they already know. They are also showing curiosity for the new materials presented. Activities such as transferring water with a pipette, sponges or small pitchers are excellent to develop eye-hand coordination, precision of their grasping, first notions of math such as quantity, and concentration. These types of activities are self-corrected which means the child can see his/her mistakes and try to improve. These water […]

Parents are also Language Learners and Teachers

As a polyglot, it gives me great pleasure when I see students constructing meaning in a new language – especially if it’s the language I teach, and through which I learn with them. Nonetheless, when I see parents becoming engaged in this process and developing interest in the evolution their children are experiencing is when […]

A Classroom’s Universal Language

How many times have you heard the expression ‘music is a universal language’? As a music lover and multilingual individual, I cannot agree more. Yet, besides being a music lover, I also love to move to its rhythm and, therefore, understand that when dancing, one needs to cope with a partner, coordinate moves, feel the […]
